What's your go to item of clothing to make sure you look and feel great for the day ahead?
A good handbag. So I can carry all my essentials with me for the entire day.
Who's your biggest source of inspiration?
Take That. I loved them growing up and still love them now! Seen them too many times to remember. They keep on going, so creative and talented.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
"Think in the morning, Act in the noon, Eat in the evening. Sleep in the night" This sticks out in my mind from studying William Blake at school. I've never forgotten this and will always repeat it back to myself on those crazy days.
What do you wear when nobody's watching?
My joggers with my bed time jumper. It's so huge and comfy. Perfect to wear on the sofa whilst watching a film.
What's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
I cannot do a single thing before I make myself a mug of tea, feed our dog then jump into the shower.
How do you maintain a good work-life balance?
Every day is a battle now we have a daughter. I ensure I do not reply to emails until my daughter is in bed. This is a pact that my partner and I have agreed to since Matilda arrived. We both have very demanding jobs. I also cannot live without my "To Do List" otherwise nothing would end up getting done each day. Days off are always spent outside with our dog. Fresh air always clears my mind. Now more than ever it is so important to get the balance right. I find myself more relaxed at work but also more focused. My partner, Matilda and our dog love visiting me at work, they all get spoilt when they arrive. It's like a home from home for them which is very important for me.
What do you do to wind-down after a long day at work?
Listen to some music. We recently purchased a Sonas entertainment system for our new home, we love it. I love having a cuddle with my dog once Matilda has gone to bed.
What's your guilty pleasure?
Once I drop off Matilda at nursery I love to turn up my radio and listen to the music nice and loud and have a good sing. Often I don’t know the words so I make them up.
What's your secret to success?
Not sure about using the word "success" but keeping very humble and grateful for what I have and work for. Having a good relationship with all my staff and seeing them progress within the company.
What was the first job you ever had?
I had a paper round both in the morning and evenings. My aim was to save as much money as I could so I could go shopping. My love of handbags and shoes is never far away.
What are the three things you can't live without in your work wear wardrobe?
Jeans, sneakers and a comfy t shirt.
What's an average day like now you're Manager?
There is never an average day, especially since I have returned back to work from maternity leave. Day starts at 5.45am and doesn't end until around 11pm. From taking my daughter to nursery before work, enjoying a coffee and freshly baked croissant whilst reading over emails at 8.00am. I usually have a daily catch up with Martha, the owner and founder of the bakery each morning. I'll have my list of jobs which includes everything from touching base with all our stores, HR duties, finance, PR duties and not forgetting menu development! We are constantly looking at new ways to develop and expand the brand, Primose Bakery. I love how I have a balance between my office work and assisting in the stores when they are busy. My role is very hands on and I love working with the public plus I get to eat cake all day long.
