The tree is up and the presents are wrapped, with only a couple of weeks until the big day it’s now time to start thinking about the finer details of the celebrations and what better place to begin than with the heart of the festivities, the dinner table. Here are a few top tips to make your Christmas dinner table look truly magical this season.

Every family has their own style, from metallic and monochrome to traditional or multi coloured so it’s important to introduce new items that works with your current décor. It always helps to keep you table decorations simple and let the food and drink speak for itself. There’s nothing wrong with just adding something small, like some gold and silver star table confetti, it catches the light beautifully and adds a sparkle to your table, whilst complimenting any styling you’ve already chosen.

Make sure you have the right ambiance. Once the festive music is playing concentrate on the lighting around your table or gathering. Lower the main lights, if you can, and add neutral warm fairy lights to help make your setting festive and cosy. These battery powered LED table lights on a wire string are perfect, they have a lovely warm tone and can be positioned anywhere without having to run a cable into to the nearest plug socket.

When dressing your table think about a centrepiece, ideally you want a statement item that isn’t too over powering but definitely eye catching and maybe even a talking point. We love this Nordic style faceted Porcelain Polar Bear, it is simple, modern and distinctive and will compliment any colour scheme you have chosen for your Christmas décor. What’s more, with a centrepiece this nice, after the food is finished it could double as a unique gift.

It’s always a good idea to add an element of fun to your table especially at this time of year where not everyone may know each other. With situations like this, crackers are the perfect icebreaker and this year why not share the fun? The sharing Cracker combines both of these elements well and allows the whole table or gathering to get involved. Each sharing cracker has six pods, one per person, everyone simply holds tight and pulls! The cracker snaps with confetti, gold hats and photo booth props filling the space, which in turn brings heaps more fun to follow. This sharing cracker is ideal for children and adults alike and is sure to be a great talking point.

Christmas is all about family, young and old so make sure your table reflects your audience. If lots of your guests are kids, you can include subtle elements of fun without having to go over the top. These Polar Bear napkins are great to make the place settings friendlier and the paper chains are the perfect activity to keep them happy and entertained whilst the grown-ups are deep in conversation. Likewise, if you have an adult only table try some ‘Saucy’ Truth or Dare crackers, perfect for serving with coffee at the end of the night.
